About Soft Girl Era®

I’m Saskia, and I'm the founder of Soft Girl Era®. My journey started when I spent three years studying Health & Skin Care in Cape Town, getting deep into the science of dermal layers, active ingredients, and professional treatments.

After my training, life took a bit of a turn. I pivoted my career and spent the next 10 years in digital marketing, working with some of South Africa’s big retail names. But even while navigating the corporate world, my heart remained in the beauty space. I wanted to be a part of the beauty community again.

And here we are.

Being a millennial, I lived through the era of heavy "cake" makeup and baking (we’ve all been there!). But watching that evolve into skin-first beauty has been the highlight of my career. I’m a firm believer that your skincare should work so well that your makeup becomes an optional accessory, not a necessity.

One of my favorite things about the South African beauty community right now is that we aren’t just buying the hype anymore, we’re actually reading the labels. Nothing makes my inner skin nerd happier than seeing a girl flip a bottle over to check for the active ingredients before she makes a purchase.
